Our stance aligns with the current restrictions implemented by the State, as we believe in the importance of preserving marine resources through responsible practices. However, we hold a different perspective when it comes to the blanket designation of the entirety of California as a Marine Protected Area (MPA). While we fully endorse the concept of sustainable fishing and recognize its significance, we believe that declaring the entire state as an MPA may not be the most appropriate approach. Instead, we support the right to engage in fishing activities responsibly, with the aim of ensuring the long-term health and abundance of fish populations. To further contribute to this cause, we actively participate in tagging research to gain deeper insights into the actual numbers and dynamics of our favorite fish species.

We believe that a more targeted and nuanced approach can be effective in preserving fish populations. By leveraging this knowledge, we aim to make informed decisions that promote the sustainable management of our favorite fish species.
